What is Design Build?

Design/Build Construction is the method of contracting where the Owner hires a competent general contractor to employ and lead a team which may consist of a Civil Engineer, an Architect, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Engineers, as well as specialty  consultants to design and build a given project.  All design and construction is handled under one contract.  The contractor and their selected design team works directly with the owner from day one to design a building best suited to the owner's needs.  The best construction value, most sensible materials, and methods are all designed into the project.  The result is a clearly defined project with a realistic budget, few or no change orders, and the best effective design program from the start.
